Backyard Beauties

While working on location in the mountains here in Colorado, I fell in love with this scene at a local restaurant outdoor area...a pristine white propane tank, buried in peonies and wild roses.  I joked with my family, here I was in the midst of the Rocky Mountain grandeur at Redstone, Colorado.... and I paint a lowly propane tank.  Go figure!  My plein air paintings are always much looser than my studio pieces. Each style has its own appeal, both for me and my collectors.
