About the Artist

People frequently comment on how peaceful my works are.

Living rural most of my life has kept me immersed in varying states of solitude and tranquility,

and found me surrounded always by beauty.

If I paint laundry on the line, it is because I am blessed to be able to hang my laundry in the fresh air and sunshine.

If I paint flower gardens bursting through picket fences, it is because that is my yard.

When I paint the canyons and mountain scenes, it is because these views embrace me daily.

I wake up in the morning so grateful for birdsong and cricket sounds. I experience the peace of the pastures that surround my home.  I wish I could gift all of that loveliness to each person I meet. My heart aches to do that.

The only way I can share all this is to paint my life . . . and offer it to each one who sees the painting.

My hope as I paint is that each piece will encourage and give hope . . .

and a sense of serenity in the midst of turmoil and personal challenges that everyone faces.

My hope is to create art that will encourage others and leave a trail of beauty and inspiration for them to follow.

To paraphrase Elton John “My gift is my art, and this one's for you.”

May you be blessed and encouraged as you view my works.
